May 8, 2011 | Movie News
It seems there is no stopping the good vibe about uniquely funded Australian horror flick The Tunnel which was funded via selling off each frame of the movie for $1 each enabling producer/directors Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey to raise the $135,000 budget. News is just in that the team behind the movie are heading off to Cannes for the all important film festival which takes place between 11 and 22 May this month and opens up the movie to the all important overseas distribution market.
Regardless of that though the film is also at the vanguard of a new type of distribution with the finished movie receiving a world TV premiere on Showtime on May 18 @ 10.35pm and getting an official torrent release on May 19, 2011.
The plot of the intense horror drama follows a news film crew’s journey into a city’s mysterious tunnels hunting for a story, “The Tunnel” sees the story turn on this investigative team made up of news producer, Peter Ferguson (Andy Rodoreda), TV journalist, Natasha Warner (Bel Delia) TV crew cameraman, Steve Miller (Steve Davis) and sound recordist, Jim ‘Tangles’ Williams (Luke Arnold). The film also stars Goran Kleut, Ben Maclaine and James Caitlin.
