Time For Murder: Mister Clay, Mister Clay (ITV 9 Nov 1985, Ian Olgilvy)
In this opening episode from the Time For Murder anthology series, Mister Clay, a teacher at an all boys prep school is unable to control his particularly unruly class of pupils, when one of them is later found dead the evidence seems to point to Clay as being the killer, but what about fellow teacher Max Donaldson who seems just too good to be true.
An early role for Aden Gillett as nervy teacher Mr Clay is one of the major pluses of this at times quite disconcerting production written by crime maestro Antonia Fraser. Ian Olgivly is his typically smooth self as fellow teacher and Joan Hickson also pops up as a dotty fellow teacher.
classic quote
“Mr Clay, Mr Clay, Who Are You going to kill today”.
