TCTC Dish Out A Swift Kick To The Head With Belligerent Third Single

Head EP released 9 April 2007 through Sequel

Head, the third single to be taken from The Cooper Temple Clause highly anticipated third studio album Make This Your Own, is a glorious return to the dirty fuzz, rock piggery that has become the staple in TCTC’s repertoire. Schizophrenic glitchtronica, soaring, eighties-influenced keyboards, a visceral rhythm section and sinister guitars, Head is comprised of all the fundamental elements required to calculate the perfect TCTC equation.

You wanna leave it but you, can’t forget about it, snarls singer Ben Gautrey who returns to add his bleak, industrial vocals to the record. Head is released April 9 through Sequel.
While busy reinforcing their position as the most innovative and pioneering band in the UK, Cooper Tom [Bellamy] has been honing his skills as alter ego Rhysmix and joined forces with remix kings The Losers, which was founded by Xfm’s Eddie Temple Morris. Within hours of Eddie receiving the Rhysmix remix of ‘Head’ he had played it out in his Xfm show. Not only that, he liked it so much he invited Tom on the show to do a Superchunk set on March 30. Tom has recently been involved in a Losers Rhysmix with Eddie for Goose and has just been confirmed by B-Unique to remix the forthcoming single by their new signings Pull Tiger Tail.

Elsewhere on the eclectic Head EP, the Coopers turn their hand to yet another genre-defying sub-strain of euphoric bliss. Epic instrumental Sleeping In A Different Room’is a stunning string-led soundscape, which opens with an eerie bleep that sounds like a heart monitor. Zoology sees Dan Fisher taking the lead with this slice of melancholic acoustic balladry, while Theme From Mayhem conjures images of Dickensian London alleyways before erupting into a towering wall of soaring guitars and crashing cymbals reminiscent of horror Brit flick 28 Days Later.

On their return from demolishing Europe throughout early March, TCTC are set to bring their now legendary live behemoth to the UK, kicking off in Cork on March 21 and running right through to London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on April 5. The band will finish the tour with a session for Xfm’s Richard Bacon on April 5, that will include an exclusive live performance of ‘Head’ in advance of the single release the following Monday.
