Applejacks Originating from Solihull in Warwickshire, The Applejacks' star shone briefly in 1964. Baggott, Cash and Freeman began playing together in a skiffle group named The Crestas in 1960, occasionally performing at a local youth club. Davies joined the group in 1961, Gould the following year, and vocalist Jackson in '63. During that time they changed their name to The Jaguars before settling on the name which was to become known to pop fans all over the country. Their success was largely due to the strength of their first record,"Tell Me When", which was an incredibly strong number. They followed in with an early Lennon/McCartney song "Like Dreamers Do" which just made the top twenty. Later releases were not so memorable and this led to a rapid return to playing local gigs. |
