AGATHA CHRISTIE'S MARPLE: At Bertram's Hotel

One of a pair of Miss Marple whodunnits released this month by ABC DVD, from the third season of the show. At Bertram's Hotel was published as novel in the early 1960's and showed Miss Marple dealing with the changing of the times, wisely the production team have maintained the post world war II setting that they have chosen as Jane Marple's world.

Bertram's is one of London's most glamorous hotels and Miss Marple is on one her occasional visits (thanks to the largesse of favourite nephew Raymond West) but behind the classic decor and timeless service Jane Marple discovers that her fellow guests are not all they are cracked up to be.

It's another excellent tale with the usual exquisite eye for detail on the production deisgn side and another stunning set of guest players, everyone from the luminous Francesca annis to Mark Heap, Stephen Mangan and Polly Walker, not to mention the gorgeous Martine McCutcheon as a chambermaid and ex-pop stars Hannah Spearitt and Mica Paris as guests.

With the colder nights drawing in Marple is the perfect show for a Sunday night in front of the TV.
