ASHES TO ASHES GETS SECOND SEASON

Well we all knew it was a certainty but the BBC have now officially confirmed that there will be a second series of Ashes to Ashes, with all the major players, including Keeley Hawes and Philip Glenister, set to return.

The series, which is a sequel to Life on Mars, sees Keeley as DI Alex Drake, who is transported back into a version of the past, 1981 style, after being shot in 2008. Created by Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah, the series has proved to be a ratings winner for the BBC with over 8 million viewers for the first episode and consistently high ratings in the 6 million region since.

The second season is due to commence filming this summer for showing in early 2009.
