GRACE KELLY: DESTINY OF A PRINCESS

There are not many Hollywood movie stars who would give it all up to go and live in a tiny town with a man whom she didn't even know that much about, still when he's one of the richest men in the world and he's going to make you a princess you can't help but give the idea some thought.

Grace Kelly was at the height of her career when she decided to leave the fame and fortune of Hollywood to marry a prince, never to act again. Destiny of a Princess (airing on ABC Thursday 24 January 2008 @ 8.30pm) is a set almost entirely during the year leading up to the wedding, the documentary focuses on the romance, and the media's obsession with the young starlet and Prince Rainier III, told from the viewpoint of Jinx, a renowned New York entertainment reporter at the time and friend of Grace Kelly.

Inspired by rarely seen archive footage of Jinx interviewing Grace prior to and during her voyage on board a passenger liner to Monte Carlo for the 'Wedding of the Century'.
