GRAND DESIGNS ABROAD: Les Gets France

All hail Kevin McCloud, surely the coolest man on TV and his build the house of your dreams show Grand Designs is also the coolest show on TV.

The current series is Abroad, episode 7 of which (on Thursday 22 May @ 6.05pm) pays a visit to the French Alps town of Les Gets where English couple Nicky and James Dobree have plans to turn a traditional 300 year old farmhouse into the holiday getaway to beat them all.

All sounds good until, that is, the couple head back to London and leave the building work in the hands of the local French builder who, unfortunately, hasn't quite come to grips with the Dobree's plans for the house.

Kevin is convinced that the couple are making major compromises by not taking a hands on approach to the build and when MAry pays a visits and sees the mess the builders have made of some supposedly antique beams she realises he is right.
