LEWIS SERIES ONE
Shock DVD / 2 disc set / Released April 2008
Featuring Kevin Whateley, Laurence Fox, Clare Holman
It must have been hard for Detective Sergeant Robbie Lewis, always being the bridesmaid and never the bride, especially with his boss Inspector Morse being one of the most enigmatic and popular detectives ever to grace the small screen. John Thaw who played Morse had long since had enough of playing the role and with his death there was definitely going to be no return for the character but luckily for us the beautiful city of Oxford is once more on our screens as murder capital of the UK in the shape of spin off series Lewis, season one of which is released this month by Shock DVD. To celebrate, we have five copies for you to win.
Testing the waters with a hugely successful pilot in January 2006 (11 Million plus viewers in the UK made it the highest rated TV drama of the year) made a series a foregone conclusion with three more feature length episodes following. It's over 20 years since Lewis started working with Morse and these days he is a widower, a detective Inspector himself and newly back in Oxford after a spell working abroad. Things have changed for Lewis (who is played by Kevin Whateley) though and he finds himself partnered with university educated Detective Sergeant Hathaway (played by the excellent Laurence Fox) and he is also now a widower.
Like Morse, the production levels are very high, scripts have been written by such luminaries as the wonderful Alan Plater, Daniel Boyle and Guy Andrews and guest stars include the likes of Anna Massey, Owen Teale and James Wilby
We have 5 copies of Lewis Season One to give away and to win one all you have to do is tell us which year the first season of In Deep was aired in the UK.
The Competition runs until 28 April 2008.
