ME AND MY HOLDEN

Published by Wakefield Press / Available now

For some time Don Loffler has been waxing nostalgic about the beauty of the early Holden cars and to celebrate the release of his latest book Me and My Holden we have three copies for you to win.

Loffler, who since taking up his interest in early Holdens (he is the owner of 1953 48-215 sedan known affectionally as Glenda) has become pretty much the leading authority on the car's golden years. In Me and My Holden he leaves his Adelaide home to meet vintage Holden drivers and the book is jam packed with wonderful original images of the cars in their prime as well as being full of emphemera and advertisements from the Holden archives.

Besides being a glorious romp through Holden's early years MAMH also serves as a great insight into Australia of 40, 50 and even 60 years ago. Images of people on holiday or going about their daily business are wonderful glimpses into a world that isn't that far away but is so far removed from current society as to be almost from another universe.

The Competition runs until 1 October 2008 and to win a copy all you have to do is tell us what year the first Holden rolled off the production lines.

To enter you have to be a subscriber of our newsletter service. If you haven't signed up for this yet then what are you waiting for, a daily newsletter of all the latest stories, comps, reviews, features and news happening in the world of Memorable TV.
