ONE MAGIC SQUARE by LOLO HOLBEIN

These are hard times we are living in, food and petrol prices are going through the roof, but there is a way that we can regain control of our wallets as the fabulous new book One Magic Square by Lolo Houbein, just published by The Wakefield Press, shows. To celebrate its release we have three copies for you to win.

Lolo Houbein, whose interest in food security stems from a war deprived childhood in her native Holland, knows that most food gardening attempts fail because the average person thinks too big, planning plots big enough to feed the neighbourhood! Lolo though has come up with a brilliantly easy to follow premise, a one metre square plot that enables you, with very little initial work, to start producing food.

The beauty of One Magic Square though is how easy it is to then expand your initial square with another, Holbein features lots of different plots, everything from salad, pea, soups, even stir fry and anti cancer ones, as well as bags of tips and tricks to get the most out of your gardening.

It's never been more important to embrace sustainability and not just for our futures either and this book is an ideal starting point.
