SANDY HARBUTT'S STONE

Umbrella / All Region / 2 disc set / Released 12 April 2008 and Rated R for really cool.

THE Australian biker movie, released this month in a lavish 2 disc special edition by Umbrella and to celebrate we have five copies for you to win.

  Rightfully acknowledge as Australia's best biker flick, in fact it's been put forward as Oz's Easy Rider many times, it's more than that though, chock full of top Aussie actors such as Ken Shorter, the gorgeous Rebecca Gilling and Helen Morse as well a lead role for writer, director Sandy Harbutt.

  Offering a brilliant glimpse into the underground counter culture of the 1970's (the movie came out in 1974) Stone focuses on undercover cop, Stone (Ken Shorter) who has to inveigle his way into the Grave Diggers biker gang after one of them witnesses a political assassination and the gang become the target for the killer.

The two disc set also features some great extras too in the shape of a vintage making of featurette; Stone Forever which is Richard Kuipers’ classic making-of documentary featuring interviews with original Stone cast and crew as well as plenty of footage from the incredible Stone 25th anniversary celebration attended by 35,000 bikers in 1998. There is also make up test footage, a director's slide show and the original theatrical trailer.
