TIME TEAM SERIES FIFTEEN

The always excellent Time Team has just returned for it's fifteenth season (Channel 4 / Sundays @ 5.45pm), never less than thoroughly entertaining the show sees the team travelling the country to investigate a wide range of archaeological sites of historical importance.

They return to the fray with their trowels and excavators, state-of-the-art graphics and every possible new technology to provide instant analysis. Aided by the pick of the country’s leading experts, the irrepressible Tony Robinson leads the core team of Mick Aston, Phil Harding and Helen Geake as they set out to solve 13 new archaeological mysteries.

Highlights of the new series include; the naughty nunnery of Northamptonshire, closed down in the 15th Century for the supposed lewd behaviour of the inhabitants; the team’s first ever gold coin, found while digging at the ruined Codnor Castle in Derbyshire; a previously undiscovered Roman villa, complete with bathhouse and mosaics, near Cheltenham; and the Second World War defensive line to protect London in the event of a Nazi invasion.
