At times out doing even Dr Who for sheer spectacle and action Torchwood is a classic piece of British scifi TV, season one has just been released by BBC DVD and to celebrate we have two copies to give away.

Separate from the government, outside the police, beyond the United Nations, Torchwood sets its own rules. Led by the enigmatic Captain Jack Harkness (Barrowman), Torchwood is made up of brilliant, passionate individuals, each bringing something unique to the team.

The team comprises of new recruit Gwen Cooper (Myles), who struggles to separate her role within Torchwood from her normal life outside with boyfriend Rhys (Kai Owen), the young, brilliant but reckless medic Owen Harper (Burn Gorman), Toshika Sato (Naoko Mori), the technical brains behind Torchwood, Suzie Costello (Indira Varma), who has devoted her life to the strange alien artefacts they discover, and Ianto Jones (Gareth David Lloyd), who is far more important than his receptionist’s role suggests.
