THE VICAR OF DIBLEY: The Handsome Stranger
Over the last ten years or so on and off The Vicar of Dibley has kept us very entertained with its outrageous stories of the female Vicar in a sleepy but eccentric English village. This new two part special which airs on Wednesday 12 December @ 8.35pm on the ABC Network is positively the very last episodes of the series (isn't that what they said after the last special though?) and it is absolutely unmissable, one of the funniest things we've seen for years, truly hilarious.
At the heart of the show though is the fact that the eternally romantic Geraldine is looking for love and this time out she might just find it. As the episode starts Geraldine (Dawn French) is annoyed when she learns that another townie, Harry Kennedy (Richard Armitage) has moved into Dibley and pays him a visit. Instead of giving him a piece of her mind, she instantly falls for the handsome stranger and the attraction is mutual. Thinking this could be the one
However, Geraldine is devastated when she spies him with the gorgeous Rosie (Keeley Hawes) and jumps to conclusions that all hope of a relationship is dashed, and resorts to prayer and chocolate. Rosie though turns out to be Harry's sister.
Meanwhile, Geraldine starts a book club and an art class, which are a disaster from the start. Afer reading the Da Vinci Code, Alice (Emma Chambers) thinks that as her name rhymes with chalice, she must be a descendant from Jesus....
