THE WALTONS COMPLETE SEVENTH SEASON

Warner Home Video / 3 disc set / Region 1 NTSC / Released April 29, 2008

Featuring Michael Learned, Ralph Waite, Ellen Corby, Judy Norton Taylor, Mary Beth McDonagh

The seventh and momentous season of The Waltons sees America finding themselves fully involved in the second world war and bringing about some huge changes for the Walton clan.

At the start of the season the family are struggling to come to terms with the death of Grandpa (the lovely Will Geer had sadly died in real life), but there are even more shocks to come - Mary Ellen's husband Curt is a victim of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour and Olivia's health is suffering and she is diagnosed with Tuberculosis and has to enter a sanitorium (this was the cue for Michael Learned to take a back seat on the show as she was keen to take on other roles.) Meanwhile on the love front Ben falls in love with a young girl named Cindy and elopes whilst young Jim-Bob falls in love with a girl who is training to become a nun. On the war front the Godsey's do their bit by turning Godsey Hall into a soldiers canteen and John Boy is in London working as a reporter.

Another superb season, one of long suffering for the Walton clan and with lots of comings and goings and growing up going on. The Waltons will be on most peoples favorite shows list, comfort food for the soul really, it doesn't matter where you join the series either, watching an episode gives you that warm fuzzy glow and makes you realise that the two most important things in life are love and family.

This 3 disc set features all 24 episodes from the season and is the very definition of must see TV.
