The BBC have just released details of their autumn daytime drama line up with a second season for The Coroner, more Moving On and Father Brown as well as an ambitious five part adaptation of Wilkie Collins novel The Moonstone.
The Coroner, which stars Claire Goose as Jane Kennedy investigates unexplained deaths in the South Devon town of Lighthaven, back for ten new episodes.
The Moonstone, a five parter, is being promoted as part of a Love To Read season by BBC Learning. The novel, by Wilkie Collins, is often considered to be one of the first detective stories.
Jimmy McGovern’s anthology series Moving On will be back for an eigth run of episodes and there ill also be a Father Brown Christmas Special.
Buy in’s include season of ABC Australia drama The Doctor Blake Mysteries, more Australian period drama with A Place To Call Home and more of Irish crime drama Red Rock.
BBC’s controller of daytime and early-peak, Dan McGolpin, said “We know that BBC Daytime viewers love to escape into a good story and we’ve got a fantastic mix of both original and acquired drama coming up for them this autumn and next year.”
