Network Ten has announced that Jackie O, popular breakfast radio announcer on Sydney’s 2DAY FM, will become host of a charming new television show, Australian Princess, to be screened on TEN later this year.
Jackie O has established herself in the mass media as one of Australia’s most successful and high profile radio co-hosts, as well as, interviewer, television presenter and magazine columnist.
Jackie O will join Paul Burrell, former Butler to Princess Diana and the Queen, in searching the country to find Australian ladies and give them the journey of their lives.
Together they will lead a team of international experts, who will shape these ordinary Aussie girls into worldly sophisticated women ready to handle the challenges of being a young royal.
“The recent marriage of Mary Donaldson to Prince Frederick of Denmark has inspired many young women to strive for more noble pursuits. Australian Princess will offer women the opportunity to learn what it takes to become royalty. One will be crowned Australian Princess but all will walk away with life lessons that will enrich their future. I feel privileged to be a part of their journey.” Jackie O said.
TEN’s general manager – network programming, David Mott said: “Jackie O is a great talent and TEN is thrilled to have secured her as the host of this fresh, new Australian show. Jackie O has proved she has the broad range of skills it takes to deliver compelling TV and she’ll be a great support to the girls as they strive to win their prince!”
Granada Productions – head of development, Hilary Innes says: “it’s fantastic to see how most of our applicants are girls who have never put their hands up for a TV show before. This concept evidently has a unique appeal for young Australian women. Jackie O is perfect to host Australian Princess, she’s confident and accomplished in her own right. Jackie knows what it takes to achieve success”
