Presenter Martel Maxwell has joined presenters Martin Roberts and Dion Dublin as new host of BBC lifestyle show Homes Under The Hammer. She will arrive on screen in June for the 21st series of the show.
Martel is best known for appearances on Lorraine and The One Show and was The Sun’s first graduate trainee.
Martel said of the news “I’m so excited to be joining the Homes Under The Hammer team. Property runs through my family – from plastering to building homes through the generations. It’s in my blood. I can’t wait to get started alongside Martin and Dion.”
Dan McGolpin, BBC Controller of Programming and Daytime, says: “Martel is an experienced broadcaster with an infectious enthusiasm for improving Britain’s homes, she is the perfect addition to the Homes Under The Hammer presenting team.”
Martel takes over from Lucy Alexander who stepped down as a presenter in July 2016.
Homes Under the Hammer airs every day at 10am on BBC One, averaging 1.2m share so far in 2017.
