Streaming service Hulu has ordered a new series from Stephen King and J.J. Abrams.
The 10 episode limited series will be set in the Stephen King world of Castle Rock. Readers of his work will know that the Maine town has featured in many of his novels over the years and the series will pull together threads from his stories into a whole new drama.
J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer will executive produce the series (via Bad Robot productions) from an idea by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason who also co-exec produce.
Hulu, King and the Bad Robot team previously teamed up for an adaptation of King’s novel 11.22.63.
The series will air exclusively in the US and Hulu and will be distributed globally by Warner Bros Worldwide Television Distribution.
