ITV: Lewis to get Ninth Season

It seems that you can’t keep a good show down, especially when it performs so consistently in the ratings which is it is no great surprise to learn that ITV have commissioned a ninth season of their crime drama Lewis.

Once again starring Kevin Whately as Lewis and Laurence Fox as Hathaway, the six episodes are due to begin filming in and around Oxford next month.

This time though a new Chief Superintendent plans to upset the apple cart somewhat and clashing with Lewis over his style of policing.

Steve November, ITV’s director of drama said “We are delighted that Kevin and Laurence are returning for a ninth series of Lewis. Each story is complex and intriguing and Detectives Robbie Lewis and James Hathaway are a formidable partnership much loved by ITV viewers.”

Once again the producer is Chris Burt (who has looked after the show since day one) and executive producer is Michele Buck.
