ITV: Martin Clunes filming new series of Doc Martin

It seems you can’t keep a good doctor down, especially when that doctor is played by Martin Clunes with news that filming has just begun on a brand new seventh series of Doc Martin.

All of the regular cast have returned to the Cornish town of Port Isaac where the series is filmed including Caroline Catz who plays Martin’s Louisa. Fans of the series will remember that she had decided to take their son James over to Spain to stay with her mother whilst the pair sorted out the difficulties they were going through. It seems things will still be on something of a delicate footing for the pair when the series returns.

Also back on board will be the fabulous Dame Eileen Atkins as the Doc’s Aunt Ruth who, in this series, has a medical drama of her own to face. Key supporting cast members John Marquez, Jessica Ransom, Ian McNeice and Joe Absolom are all also back.

Clunes said of the return “I’m thrilled to be back on the beautiful North Cornish coast to shoot series seven of Doc Martin. The Doc has some serious work to do if he is going to persuade Louisa to come back.”

Producer is Philippa Braithwaite and Executive Producer is Mark Crowdy.
