MARTIN CLUNES AS DOC MARTIN RENEWED BY ITV ONCE AGAIN
Still one of ITV’s most popular shows (and one that brings in plenty of moolah for the channel with it’s popularity around the world) Doc Martin, starring Martin Clunes as the grumpy Cornish doctor, will back for a sixth series of 8 episodes in 2013.
Once again filming will take place in Port Isaac (Port Wenn on the show) in Cornwall and pretty much all of the regulars, including Caroline Catz, will be back too. Also on board is Eileen Atkins as the Doc’s take no nonsense Auntie Ruth as well as Ian McNeice and Joe Absolom.
Martin Clunes is clearly happy in the role remarking “Our challenge this season will be to force Louisa and the doctor to live together with Baby James which as far as I can see has disaster written all over it…..And then there’s the dog and Dame Eileen but not necessarily in that order!”
The series was created by Dominic Minghella (trivia fans take note that Martin’s surname Ellingham is an anagram of Minghella’s own surname) and is produced by Buffalo Pictures for ITV-1.
