Not that there was ever any doubt about it in our minds but Netflix have confirmed that the superb House of Cards will get a fourth season. We won’t give away any spoilers but the way the third and current season ends means that the fourth season has the potential to be it’s strongest yet.
Production on the show will recommence this summer with Kevin Spacey as President Frank Underwood and Robin Wright as first lady Claire Underwood returning in the lead roles.
The series is a re-imagining of Michael Dobb’s trilogy of novels which were also adapted by the BBC in the early 1990’s with Ian Richardson as scheming politico Francis Urquhart. The first two seasons of this new production, which has become the Netflix show with the highest profile, carried some echoes of the original but the third season was very much it’s own beast.
