PETER JACKSON’S THE HOBBIT NOW A TRILOGY

Posted July 31, 2012 by MemTV in NEWS

Amazingly Peter Jackson has decided he has enough material to turn his planned two movie take on J.R.R. Tolkien’s relatively slim novel The Hobbit (which acts as a lead in to The Lord of the Rings of course) into a trilogy!

According to reports in The Guardian newspaper and Jackson’s own Facebook page Mr Jackson realised that “it is only at the end of a shoot that you finally get the chance to sit down and have a look at the film you have made.”

“We know how much of the story of Bilbo Baggins, the Wizard Gandalf, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur will remain untold if we do not take this chance,” he added.

The first of the movies, which star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins is due for release in December 2012.
