Poldark Season 2 will premiere 4 September on BBC One

Poldark Season 2

It’s been a tortuous wait for fans of the series but the premiere date for the second season of Poldark has been announced. The Aidan Turner starring series will premiere on BBC One on 4 September 2016.

This time out there will be ten episodes instead of the eight from the first season and Aidan revealed recently that it’s going to be an epic season.

Speaking back-stage at MCM comic-con in May the actor revealed that when the series opens Ross and Demelza are facing trying times. “It’s a time when Ross and Demelza have just lost their child, his company is down the pan, they’re broke, and he’s been arrested. It looks like he’s going to prison. It’s a cheery beginning! And yeah, there’s so much story in it, and all the characters have massive arcs in the next series…”

Alongside Outlander, Poldark was out favourite historical drama last year. The series also sent Aidan Turner’s career into major overdrive too. Never has one man’s bare chest been the subject of so many column inches. Poldark is way more than that of course. It’s an epic, sweeping romantic drama of the highest order.
