Poldark’s Aidan Turner makes topless scything TV’s most watched “sport”

No surprises that one of the choice TV moments of the year for female viewers was Aidan Turner’s topless scything in BBC’s fabulous reboot of Poldark.

According to a poll in the Radio Times “the scene set pulses across the nation racing in series one of the lavish BBC period drama when it aired earlier this year and elevated the 32-year-old Irish actor to heartthrob status.

The scything scene received 45 per cent of the vote in the Radio Times’ poll of top TV moments of 2015, beating Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani’s Pulp Fiction-themed Jive on Strictly Come Dancing which came a close second.

Around 43 per cent voted for the Strictly victor’s sensational performance in the survey that asked over 44,000 readers to choose their favourite moment.”
