RESISTANCE – ABC'S BIGGEST EVER BUDGET CHILDREN'S LIVE ACTION SERIES NOW IN PRODUCTION

The ABC have announced details of a massive $14 million dollar 26 part sci-fi children’s live action series called Resistance which is being made at the new state of the art South Australia Film Corporation headquarters in Adelaide.
A co-production between the ABC, Persistence Production and the Canadian Shatesbury Films Resistance follows a group of teenage resistance fighters who use the very latest technology to combat an alien take-over. The series will begin shooting from November 2011 and will air late 2012 on ABC3 in Australia and YTV in Canada.
Kim Dalton, who is the director of ABC TV said of the series and it’s South Australian location “ABC TV is thrilled to be bringing this major children’s television series to Adelaide, especially as it will be the first production to be filmed in the stunning new facilities here. This will make Resistance not only an important and historic landmark for both ABC TV and South Australia but also for children’s television production in Australia. Resistance will add to our already strong line up of live-action children’s dramas series such as Dance Academy, My Place and Dead Gorgeous.”
