THE VOICE AUSTRALIA: ALL FOUR COACHES NOW IN OZ FOR FILMING

The first Australian season of smash hit reality series The Voice is due to commence filming shortly and all four star coaches, Keith Urban, Delta Goodrem, Seal and Joel Madden are now in Sydney to get the show underway.

The show, which will air on Channel 9, will follow the same format as the US version and will feature three stages of competition – the Blind Auditions, the Battle phase, and the Live performance shows revealing Australia’s very best undiscovered artists.

During the blind auditions, if a star coach is impressed they push a button to select that artist for their team of competitors. At this point the coach’s chair will swivel so they can face the artist they have selected. If more than one coach selects a vocalist, the power shifts to the artist, who may choose which coach to work with throughout the competition. An artist is eliminated if not been chosen by one of the coaches.

Over the next week the four coaches will hear more than singers perform in a bid to secure a life-changing spot on one of the star teams.

Once the teams are set the battle is on. The coaches will be dedicated to developing their artists, giving them advice and sharing the secrets of their success. During the battle rounds, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other by singing a duet for the studio audience.

The Voice is an innovative vocal competition developed by Dutch media company TALPA and modelled after the top-rated vocal talent discovery show, The Voice of Holland. It is shown in over 50 countries. The American series has been the biggest ratings hit for NBC post-Super Bowl since Friends in 2004.

The Voice, a co-production between SHINE Australia and TALPA, will be filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney and seen on the Nine Network in the coming months.
