The Voice Australia: Madden Not Drunk Just Nervous Say Channel 9
With the Twittersphere and gossip columns ablaze over coach Joel Madden’s performance on The Voice this week, many speculated that Madden was drunk on the Monday night episode Channel 9 have had to step forward and proclaim his innocence.
According to News.com.au Madden wasn’t drunk just nervous.
Nine’s head of development Adrian Swift told Confidential yesterday that Madden, who appeared to slur his words and gesticulated wildly throughout Monday’s show, was simply nervous prior to taping.”I absolutely assure you Joel wasn’t drunk. I was with him right up until he went on stage.”
The controversy followed online backlash to the episode, which marked another ratings high point for Nine, with around 2.2 million viewers tuning in.
