THREE MORE EPISODES FOR DIRK GENTLY ON BBC4
TV News | 1 April 2011
Dirk Gently which was seen on BBC4 late last year and adapted from the novel by Douglas Adams performed well enough for the BBC to commit to a further three episodes for broadcast in 2012 which will make it the first drama series commission to be made by BBC4.

Written by Howard Overman and based on Adams’ novel Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency the series will once again star Stephen Mangan and hopefully Helen Baxendale too.
Anti-hero Dirk Gently operates his eponymous detective agency based on the fundamental interconnectedness of all things. Perpetually broke, hopelessly chaotic and utterly infuriating, most people suspect Dirk is nothing more than a cheap conman. And they might be right – but nevertheless his methods, though unusual, do often produce surprising results.
Howard Overman said “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to write more episodes of Dirk and look forward to seeing where his unique detective methodology and perspective on life takes me.”
