Production will begin this summer on a second run of the The X-Files revival. The 10 episode Fox series will see Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny reprising their iconic roles of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder.
The new episodes follow on the heels of the much hyped 2016 6 part event series, this new run of episodes is scheduled to air during the 2017-18 season.
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators—these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” said David Madden, the president of Fox Broadcasting Company. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop-culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
The original version of The X-Files debuted in 1993 and ran until 2002.
