PACKED TO THE RAFTERS EPISODE ONE
7 Network / Tuesdays @ 8.30pm
Entertaining and funny, Packed to the Rfters surely signals that the comedy drama is back on the map. Bevan "Sons and Daughters" Lee is the man behind the series so its pedigree is assured. Erik Thomson and Rebecca Gibney are Dave and Julie Rafter, who, after 25 years of marriage, are finally looking forward to a little "alone time" together now that the last of their three children, Ben, has moved out of home. Ben though has only moved next door, eldest son Nathan and his wife are desperate to move in and daughter Rachel has problems she is not sharing.
There is much to enjoy in this first episode, what with Dave's viagra misadventure (and naturally the nurse who treats him just happens to move in as Ben's flat mate next door) and Dave making the decision to go it alone after his boss (he's an electrician) want to cut his hours.
The biggest plus point though is the excellent dialogue (great script by Anthony Ellis), clever, natural and above all funny. Definitely one to watch.
