PRIMEVAL CANCELLED

After an exciting and action filled three seasons ITV have announced that they are dropping Primeval from their schedules. The show's production company, Impossible Pictures, were hoping to attract another channel to co-fund the show with ITV but now the network has announced its plans that is now very unlikely to happen. IP had hoped that the Sci-Fi channel would be interested in co-funding with a first showing on that channel before moving to ITV1.

An "ITV spokesman" said that the station wanted to focus more on post watershed drama but given the current climate one would think that a show like Primeval would be more of an attraction with the possibility of strong dvd sales and merchandising.

Entertaining and well played Primeval, which starred Douglas Henshall, Ben Miller and Hannah Spearritt, was ITV's hope for their own Doctor Who but despite averaging around 5 and a half million viewers per episode the show never quite generated the same level of fandom.
