One-off documentary, The 18-30 Stone Holiday, follows eight overweight Brits as they travel to the world’s only plus-size friendly hotel. Located on an idyllic island in the Bahamas, The Resort has been designed to allow plus-sized people to enjoy the holiday they have always dreamed of – the sun loungers are supersized, the beds are reinforced with steel and the guests are able to strip off without fear of humiliation.
Heading to The Resort, are Adam and his wife Ami, who are treating the holiday as a second and happier honeymoon. Steven rarely leaves his home town, and this is the first time the 23-year-old has ever been on a plane. Mother-of-two Alice’s chronic anxiety about her size has led to her becoming a prisoner in her own home. Dane is engaged to his childhood sweetheart Helen, but his insecurities about his appearance have led to him cancelling two weddings. David’s weight spiralled after his relationship broke down, and in the space of around three years he put on about eight stone. Sandra is also struggling with being the largest she has ever been.
The final member of the group is plus-size model Holly. Baring their souls and their deep-rooted body issues, will the gang go home ready to change their lives for the better?
The 18-30 Stone Holiday airs Tuesday 24 October 2017 from 9.00pm-10.00pm on ITV.
