The documentary series following the work of Brighton’s police force concludes with it’s second episode on Thursday 24 August at 9.00pm on ITV. On the surface, Brighton is an affluent party city, but it has a dark criminal underbelly which keeps the city centre’s detectives under constant pressure.
In this episode, detectives are working on an ongoing investigation into an incident at a family home in Woodingdean, on the outskirts of Brighton. The house, where four young children were present, was attacked by a gang of masked men armed with knives and poles, and detectives eventually linked the incident to a woman living in Sussex whose brother is serving time in prison.
They have spent months analysing phone records, and have come to the conclusion that the attack was masterminded from prison by their prime suspect. Officers are also on the hunt for a suspect after a woman reports an attempted rape. The police carry out an intensive search to find the man in question before he is able to strike again.
