Cabins In The Wild With Dick Strawbridge Episode 2 (Channel 4 28 May 2017)

Published

on

In this new series, engineer Dick Strawbridge, along with master craftsman Will Hardie, follows an ingenious competition to build a pop-up hotel comprised of eight stunning and unique cabins in the wild. The Welsh tourist board challenged designers and self-builders to create a cabin for £11k that can be moved around the Welsh landscape every month. From over 100 entrants, eight were chosen and Dick and Will follow the challenges of bringing these ambitious designs to life.

The second episode sees two of the competition’s most innovative designs, as Dick champions a luxury design inspired by a Welsh national coal pit and Will meets the builders of a modernist unit made of slate. Dick also travels to the woods of East Sussex to see a futuristic cabin inspired by the cockpit of an airship. And together, Dick and Will engineer the mechanism that will allow their own luxury design to extend to ten metres in length.
