Cafe, The (Sky-1 2011-2012, Ellie Haddington, Michelle Terry)
Sitcom The Cafe took us to Weston-Super-Mare, where Mary (June Watson), Carol (Ellie Haddington) and Sarah (Michelle Terry) run a small seaside cafe.
All manner of people wander in and out of the cafe, Cyril’s, providing a snapshot of daily life in a typical British seaside resort.
Speaking in an interview with TV Choice co-writer and star Ralf Little described the show as “all the people there are a close-knit group of friends of different ages that are very much a part of each others’ worlds – like people are with their groups of friends. It’s just that it’s in a small cafe in Weston and that’s just how it is. It’s about people, and the way they react to each other and the funny things that they say to each other.”
