Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Great Christmas Roast

Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Great Christmas Roast, airing on Thursday 21 December at 9.00pm on ITV, two of the nation’s favourite chefs go head-to-head to create an epic Christmas banquet in celebration of some real heroes. Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo battle it out to produce the ultimate festive menu, creating scrumptious starters, magnificent mains and delectable desserts for 100 deserving diners.

The guest list is made up of members of the public and the emergency services who bravely risked their lives during tragic events and went above the call of duty to help others. Ensuring the heroes have a night to remember – and keeping the mulled wine flowing – is master maître d’ Fred Sirieix. As they battle it out for the title of Banquet Champion, Gordon and Gino are given much needed assistance from some celebrity helpers.

As no festive feast is complete without the right tipple, prior to the banquet the three men scour France in a motor home on a mission to bring back the best beverage for the special night. They have braved the elements – and each other – to find the boldest reds, the cheekiest wine and, of course, the best celebratory champers to bring the heroes the festive cheer they deserve.

Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Great Christmas Roast airs Thursday 21 December 2017 at 9.00pm.

Father Brown Series Return

In The Tree of Truth, by Jude Tindall, the first of ten new episodes premiering on Monday 18 December at 1.45pm on BBC One, Father Brown attempts to overturn a miscarriage of justice while rehearsing for the Kembleford Christmas pantomime.

It’s December, and Father Brown (Mark Williams), Mrs McCarthy (Sorcha Cusack) and Bunty (Emer Kenny) are visited by an old friend as they make mince pies and decorate the presbytery. Sid (Alex Price) has returned for Christmas, bearing gifts from Lady Felicia. Meanwhile as locals walk through the woods, a dog uncovers a partially skeletonised hand in the cold ground. The body is identified as Scarlett Dreyfuss (Laura Pitt-Pulford), a woman reported missing after the dress rehearsal of Red Riding Hood in 1946, throwing open a seven year-old case.

But that doesn’t stop the Kembleford Amateur Dramatics Society from holding their auditions for this year’s pantomime, Cinderella.

Mrs McCarthy is left disappointed when Bunty is given the role of Fairy Godmother over her, while Father Brown and Sid are left with rather undignified parts. When Scarlett’s post-mortem is delivered, Inspector Mallory (Jack Deam) realises that the confession of her supposed killer, gentle giant Benny (Robert Ewens), is a pack of lies.

A terrible miscarriage of justice has taken place – can Father Brown overturn it in time for Christmas?

Written by Jude Tindall.

Father Brown: The Tree of Truth Episode 1 (of 10) airs Monday 18 December 2017 from 1.45pm-2.30pm on BBC One.
