Haggard (ITV 1990-1992, Keith Barron, Reece Dinsdale)
Period sitcom detailing the exploits of late 18th Century Squire Haggard, much given to carousing, drinking, wenching and slothfulness.
Haggard travelled the land with his son Roderick (Reece Dinsdale) and servant Grunge (Sam Kelly).
The main aim was to discover a young heiress to marry, so he can restore the fortune he’s frittered away over years of drunken debauchery.
The series was based on column written for The Daily Telegraph by Michael Green which then became a 1975 novel called Squire Haggard’s Journal.
