Justice: When Did You First Feel The Pain (ITV 25 Nov 1971, with John Stone)

Published

on

In When Did You First Feel The Pain Harriet is being courted by Doctor Ian Moody who is new to the area, she isn’t overly keen on his attentions but does agree to go out with him a couple of times. She finds herself getting rather more involved with him when a patient he is treating following surgery dies after being treated by Moody and the coroner (who seems to have it in for the doctor) blames Moody for the death.

The patient was allergic to penicillin but was prescribed it by Moody. By the time the case is heard in court it is clear the hospital is to blame rather than Moody.

Meanwhile Harriet also has her hands full with a divorce case in which the husband Sam Hardy (who she is acting for) is scrabbling around trying to avoid paying maintenance.

The Moody plotline is strong, the Hardy divorce one less so. The scenes featuring Hardy and his wife Greta come across at times like a sitcom. Especially their scene outside the seafood stall where Hardy is trying to attempt a reconciliation with his wife.

It’s an interesting episode, Moody very quickly professes his love for Harriet and even proposes. Harriet tells him to go away for a while and get his feelings straight.
