Acclaimed poet Kate Tempest introduces a night of poetry and performance from the BBC’s Contains Strong Language festival – part of the year-long celebrations for Hull UK City of Culture 2017 in this special 30-minute BBC Two programme for Saturday night.
Kate performs her own work and introduces some of the best spoken word poets in Britain. The evening showcases a wide variety of voices, styles and emerging talent, from Kate Fox’s brassy humour to the extraordinary 19 year-old poet, Isaiah Hull.
This programme is a part of the corporation’s Contains Strong Language strand. Contains Strong Language is a brand new national poetry and spoken word festival, taking place in Hull UK City of Culture from National Poetry Day, 28 September – 1 October.
