In the penultimate episode of The Loch, airing on Sunday 9 Jul at 9.00pm on ITV, Annie’s determination leads her to uncover murder weapons used by the killer. She and Quigley join forces to hunt down the suspect. Risking their lives, they pursue the killer, who is now armed, through the dark corridors of the local hydro-electric dam.
The beautiful, haunting shores of Scotland’s most iconic stretch of water – Loch Ness – is the stunning backdrop for new six-part drama The Loch. Acclaimed actors Laura Fraser, Siobhan Finneran and John Sessions take leading roles in the new series, along with Don Gilet, Gray O’Brien and Alastair Mackenzie.
In a community nourished and sustained by myth and bordered by untamed nature, the search for a serial killer becomes a matter of life and death for local detective Annie Redford (Fraser) who is trying to cope with her first murder case. When the body of local man Niall Swift is found at the foot of Carn Mohr and a human heart is discovered on the loch shore, the town’s normality is shattered.
The stunning scenery, undulating Highlands and vast expansive loch becomes a character in its own right adding a haunting depth to the community’s plight. The initial investigation, headed by DCI Lauren Quigley (Finneran), produces more questions than answers and another gruesome find raises the stakes further still.
The Loch Episode 5 (of 6) airs on Sunday 9 July 2017 from 9.00pm-10.00pm
