In the final episode of The Loch, airing Sunday 16 Jul at 9.00pm on ITV, the search for a serial killer terrorising a remote Highland community reaches its conclusion.
The beautiful, and haunting shores of Scotland’s most iconic and mysterious stretch of water – Loch Ness – acts as the stunning backdrop for this six-part drama. Acclaimed actors Laura Fraser, Siobhan Finneran and John Sessions take leading roles in the series, along with Don Gilet, Gray O’Brien and Alastair Mackenzie.
In a community nourished and sustained by myth and bordered by untamed nature, the search for a serial killer has become a matter of life and death for local detective Annie Redford (Fraser) who is trying to cope with her first murder case.
After Alan’s discovery, Quigley (Finneran) and Annie watch as a body is pulled from the loch. The pathologist identifies the body and a photograph in the dead man’s wallet provides a vital clue for the detectives. Annie attempts to gather evidence from a desperate Mhairi (Simone Lahbib) who, refusing to believe her son may be the killer, provides an unexpected piece of evidence. Despite being threatened with arrest by Quigley, Albrighton (Gilet) continues to obsess over the case and, after making a discovery, he risks his own life to prove his theory.
