Margaret Ashcroft
English actor Margaret Ashcroft was a TV regular during the late 1960’s and 1970’s. She scored her biggest roles in two very well remembered series, both running at the same time funnily enough. First was a very strong supporting role in ITV drama The Main Chance and then a role in the BBC-1 drama The Brothers.
Margaret pretty much retired from the screen after the end of the Brothers but did make a few little guest appearances in the 1990’s. Ashcroft was married to fellow actor Morris Perry and was the neice of acting legend Dame Peggy Ashcroft. She was born 16 February 1931 in Chelsea, London and she died 25 October 2016 at the age of 85.
