Prime Suspect 1973 Episode 5 (ITV 30 Mar 2017, with Jay Taylor)
The excellent Jane Tennison prequel Prime Suspect 1973 continues with it’s fifth episode on Thursday 30 March at 9.00pm on ITV.
The young WPC, played by Stefanie Martini, experiences some flagrant sexism and rule bending before being thrown in at the deep end with a brutal murder enquiry, witnessing first-hand the devastating effects of violent crime, as well as experiencing some tragic ramifications herself.
Immersed in the music, fashion and politics that defined a generation, Jane Tennison establishes herself in a man’s world in the teeth of some mean and ugly opposition.
In the fifth episode when his surveillance operation confirms the Bentleys’ criminal plans, Bradfield (Sam Reid) defies his bosses and orders his team to pursue them at all costs. Under pressure from all sides, cracks start to form between Clifford (Alun Armstrong), John (Lex Shrapnel) and David Bentley (Jay Taylor).
Meanwhile, a discovery by Jane provides the vital clue in uncovering Julie Ann’s killer. Also starring Blake Harrison, Daniel Brooke and Andrew Ezra.
Prime Suspect 1973 Episode 5 airs on Thursday 30 March 2017 from 9.00pm-10.00pm on ITV.
