The final episode of the gripping police drama – a prequel to the original Prime Suspect series – that rewinds to 1970s London to follow the early career of the formidable DCI Jane Tennison airs on Thursday 6 April at 9.00pm on ITV.
In episode six, the last in the current series (and we do hope there is more to come), the police station is numb with shock in the aftermath of the explosion at the bank vault. As officers search the rubble for survivors, it becomes clear that they have lost one of their own.
Harris (Andrew Brooke) rallies the troops to launch a manhunt for Clifford (Alun Armstrong) and David Bentley (Jay Taylor). A distraught Renee (Ruth Sheen) is arrested and admits that her son David has been acting oddly since Julie Ann’s body was found, but refuses to give up his location.
Feeling that the truth is within her grasp, Jane hunts him down in the hope of putting the case to bed once and for all, but soon finds herself in mortal danger.
Prime Suspect 1973 Episode 6 (of 6) airs on Thursday 6 April 2017 from 9pm-10.00pm on ITV.
