River Monsters: Devil of the Deep (ITV 16 Jun 2017)

River Monsters Devil of the Deep

In the fourth episode of the new series, entitled Devil of the Deep and airing on Friday 16 June at 8.00pm on ITV, when badly beaten corpses wash up on a Mexican beach, the usual suspects are put under suspicion, but Jeremy is intrigued by another explanation.

His instincts point him towards a slightly more outlandish theory, this one involving a mysterious sea creature. Jeremy’s cases usually involve freshwater culprits, but with multiple reports of a deep water serial killer in Mexico’s Sea of Cortez, he must step out of his comfort zone and into unchartered depths. He tracks down a survivor whose chilling account identifies the underwater assassin as ‘el diablo rojo’ – the red devil. Jeremy must brave sea-sickening conditions to reveal a horrific beast many fear more than sharks.

Freshwater detective, biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade returns for the eighth series of the marine wildlife documentary with brand new episodes to ITV. As ever, Jeremy is on the hunt for some of the biggest, vicious and most beastly creatures ever to roam the depths. On a mission to uncover the dark secrets of Earth’s rivers, he travels the globe and risks life
and limb to investigate all manner of bizarre species.
