Freshwater detective, biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade returns for the eighth series of the marine wildlife documentary with brand new episodes to ITV. As ever, Jeremy is on the hunt for some of the biggest, vicious and most beastly creatures ever to roam the depths.
On a mission to uncover the dark secrets of Earth’s rivers, he travels the globe and risks life and limb to investigate all manner of bizarre species.
The third episode of the new series, entitled Terror in Paradise, heads to the the island of Andros in the West Indies where the legend of a monstrous sea creature is believed to be more than just a story. Here tales of swimmers being ripped from the surface of the island’s mysterious blue holes have been attributed to a local monster known as the ‘Lusca’. Described as half shark, half octopus with a taste for human flesh, this terrifying beast is said to drag its prey a thousand feet down to its deep water lair where it feasts on its victims.
When Jeremy travels to the tropical paradise to investigate, his search for answers takes him to dangerous new depths and closer than ever to a real killer.
River Monsters: Terror in Paradise Season 8 Episode 3 airs on Friday 9 June 2017 from 8.00pm on ITV.
