Schofield’s South African Adventure is a brand new three-part series premiering on Friday 24 February at 8.00pm on ITV.

The series sees ever likable This Morning presenter Philip Schofield visit South Africa, encountering some of the nation’s wildlife along the way – and sampling some of the country’s finest wines.

While some people may race to get out of the water when they see a great white shark, Phillip Schofield is heading straight in.

Diving with one of the world’s most dangerous predators has long been a bucket list dream for the TV presenter and in this series his dream comes true. He travels to Gansbaai to turn the idea of a zoo on its head as he waits in a cage underwater to catch a glimpse of a great white shark in the wild.

On this once-in-a lifetime trip, Phillip is joined by his wife Steph. The couple start their journey with a walk around South Africa’s mother city – Cape Town. They have also have a look at some of the stunning scenery around them including the magnificent Table Mountain – down which Phillip is going to abseil.

Then the couple stop off to have a drumming lesson, taught by a djembe instructor. Phillip and Steph join a group of drummers to see
if they can pick up some of the rhythms of this remarkable country
